The sign above the gates shows the pier toll was 1d (whatever that may mean). The pier toll today is 20p - an absolute bargain for such a quality pier. The ferry service to Beaumaris proved to be a popular service, passengers were carried on the Lady Magdalen for a charge of sixpence. |
