The Castle Hotel, this was a high class hotel, which closed in 1989.  In 1996 the building was demolished.  A Littlewoods store was built where the hotel stood.  The Castle Garage, which had car parking space for 100 cars, is now a Yates' Pub (previously The Castle pub), where I successfully drank a yard of ale back in 1998 :-)  I've never tried it since (must give it another go one day)!
