High Street

Another old photograph of the High Street that I have stumbled across.   This photo is taken outside what is now O'Sheas (previously the Kings Arms).   The people in the picture who are going about their day to day lives makes this a really good photo; it's far better than gazing down an empty street.

There are three cafes, so just like now cafes were common place many years ago.  The lad pulling the cart is from Stars Supply Stores which is on the right - the shop sign is distinctive as it is star shaped.  If you look far down on the right hand side of the street you will see some lettering below a window on the side of a building - that was the Library.
